COP26 President Alok Sharma meets PM Modi, Prakash Javadekar

COP26 (26th UN Climate Change Conference) President Alok Sharma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 16 in Delhi.

PM Modi conveyed best wishes to the United Kingdom for the successful organisation of the climate summit.

COP26 President Sharma also met Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Prakash Javadekar today.

"Glasgow will host COP26, he (Alok Sharma) is meeting various leaders and discussing with them to arrive at landing zones.

We discussed all issues which are contemporary and important for negotiations in Glasgow," said Javadekar.

"I showcased him and told about various initiatives taken by India on renewable, disaster-resilient infrastructure, adaptation, electrical buses, metro expansion, our reduction of emission intensity and increasing tree cover.

It was a very fruitful meeting," he added.
