G Kishan Reddy takes first shot of COVID-19 vaccine in Hyderabad

Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on March 2 took the first shot of COVID-19 vaccine in Hyderabad.

Reddy, after taking the vaccination waited in the waiting room.

Reddy will take another shot of the vaccination after two weeks.

Many ministers and chief ministers are expected to take vaccination in this phase of vaccination drive.

On March 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS, Delhi.

On March 1, the country has opened immunization for those above 60 years of age and those over 45 who have co-morbidities.

On the second day of Ramzan month, people visited Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad on April 15 to offer early morning prayers. People without masks won't be allowed and sanitizers have been placed in the Mosque premises. Speaking to ANI, Haafiz Mohammad Haneef, the Muezzin of Mecca Masjid, said that there are regular announcements through loud speakers for the people coming to the mosque to offer Namaz by following all the instructions of the government and pray to Allah to end this deadly disease soon. "Use of sanitizers and masks is compulsory to enter the mosque and people are instructed to sanitize themselves before entering the mosque and after leaving," he added. Shoaib, a local said, "We are using masks, which is compulsory for us to enter the mosque. The people are using sanitizers and maintaining social distance and also following all COVID norms."

"We have decided to add 70 more beds at the AIIMS Trauma Centre and 100 more beds at the National Cancer Institute, Jhajjar. I am sure we will be able to overcome the challenges we are facing due to surge in COVID19 cases now," the Minister said. "I have visited COVID wards in the Trauma Centre here with the Director and other doctors and met COVID patients individually. Most of them are in a recovery state. The main motive behind the visit is to check the bed availability and to increase according to the need. There are 266 COVID beds available in AIIMS till date, 253 are occupied with patients," he added.
