"Use of sanitizers and masks is compulsory to enter the mosque and people are instructed to sanitize themselves before entering the mosque and after leaving," he added. Shoaib, a local said, "We are using masks, which is compulsory for us to enter the mosque. The people are using sanitizers and maintaining social distance and also following all COVID norms."

Bihar government has geared up and took several steps amid surge in coronavirus cases including converting Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) as a dedicated COVID facility. "We have increased beds in hospitals in view of surge in COVID cases. We have decided to make Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), a dedicated COVID facility. We are also increasing number of beds in PMCH, AIIMS, IGIMS and other medical colleges. Testing has also increased. District Control Units established for assistance to patients," said Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey to ANI.
Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan visited All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma centre on April 16 and announced that 70 more beds will be added to Trauma Centre. "We have decided to add 70 more beds at the AIIMS Trauma Centre and 100 more beds at the National Cancer Institute, Jhajjar. I am sure we will be able to overcome the challenges we are facing due to surge in COVID19 cases now," the Minister said. "I have visited COVID wards in the Trauma Centre here with the Director and other doctors and met COVID patients individually. Most of them are in a recovery state. The main motive behind the visit is to check the bed availability and to increase according to the need. There are 266 COVID beds available in AIIMS till date, 253 are occupied with patients," he added.
Health Minister Harsh Vardhan interacted with doctors of AIIMS amid rising Covid cases in the country. AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria and other doctors of the hospital were present during his visit. Harsh Vardhan took stock of the situation at the hospital and spoke to doctors for further preparations. He also told doctors that India even though cases are rising rapidly, India is better placed to handle the surge as we have learnt from the experience of handling the pandemic in 2020. The Health Ministerās visit to AIIMS comes on a day India reported its highest-ever single-day spike in COVID-19 cases with over 2.17 lakh new cases and more than 1,100 deaths in the last 24 hours.
