With challenging situation again in the country due to second wave of COVID-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested observing 'Tika Utsav' from 11-14th April.
"Can we do a mass vaccination programme from 11-14th April for the eligible people with zero wastage and use our resources optimally?" he asked.

With the surge in COVID-19 cases, East Coast Railway and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation have set up six counters at Bhubaneswar Railway Station to check the passengers coming from other states. Director of Bhubaneswar Railway Station, Chittaranjan Nayak said, "BMC and East Coast Railway have taken initiative for the people coming from other states who had not done RT PCR test within 72 hours and has not taken doses of COVID vaccine are being registered here and passengers having symptoms are sent for quarantine and are being tracked taking their details."
Pandemic continues to haunt India. Country reported 1,84,372 new cases on April 14. Currently there are 13,65,704 active cases in the country. Total caseload of India mounted to 1,38,73,825. With 1,027 deaths reported in last 24 hours, death toll stood at 1,72,085. So far, 1,23,36,036 people recovered from the contagious disease. Vaccination drive is underway in the country, so far 11,11,79,578 vaccine doses have been administered across country.
