The United States has “no closer ally, no closer partner” than the UK, US secretary of state Antony Blinken said as he hailed the “special relationship”.President Joe Biden’s victory marked the start of a new chapter in the “special relationship” following a turbulent and chaotic period under Donald Trump.
The Bidens have announced that Champ, their “beloved” German Shepherd who had been with their family since 2008, has died. Champ passed away at the Biden family home in Wilmington, Delaware, a White House official told CNN.
"In our most joyful moments and in our most grief-stricken days, he was there with us, sensitive to our every unspoken feeling and emotion. We love our sweet, good boy and will miss him always," the Bidens said in a statement. This report produced by Jonah Green.
