Government data up to May 7 shows that of the 52,403,417 jabs given in the UK so far, 35,188,981 were first doses – a rise of 119,340 on the previous day.Some 17,214,436 were second doses, an increase of 449,716.
A total of 39,379,411 people have received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine, the UK's official Covid-19 dashboard says. There have also been 25,537,133 second doses given.
