Amid a severe wave of Covid-19 infections, several bodies were spotted floating in the Yamuna river in Uttar Pradesh. Locals in Hamirpur spotted the corpses and alerted the police. A local councillor claimed that amid Covid infections, people were fearful and not helping each other, so bodies were being dumped in the river. Police said that people in Kanpur were responsible.
