An 18-year-old is struggling with his decision tomove out of his parent's house.

The teenager explainedhis situation on Reddit's "Am I the A******" forum.“my parents started talking about howthey expect me to pay for rent and half thebills if I expect to stay there," he explained."That wasn’t the problem.

The issue was theywere expecting me to pay $1,300 a month for mytiny room that I share with my little brother.

Notincluding half of the bills they expected me to pay”.“I [told] my parents I don’t [have] aproblem with helping with the bills and payingfor my room if they made the rent lower”.“They said that’s how much they agreed on so that’swhat I’d have to pay if I wanna keep staying there”."I said fine and talked to one of my friends I alreadyknew had his own place but was looking for a newroommate for the past three months," he wrote.“They’re super mad at me for leaving …My dad says I’m going to leave them reallystruggling and he can’t believe I decided to beselfish instead of helping my family out”.Reddit thought the teenager made the rightmove.

"For a parent to try to charge theirbarely-legally-an-adult son that amountof money for his freaking childhood bedroomis outrageous," one person commented
