Leonid Volkov, chief of staff to the late Russian opposition leader Aleksei Navalny, was attacked outside his Vilnius home. Assailants sprayed tear gas, shattered his car window, and beat him with a hammer. Volkov survived with injuries. The attack raises concerns about the safety of Navalny's associates and dissenting voices in Russia. Authorities are investigating the incident.
