Climate Protesters Move Into Tunnels to Prevent Eviction

It’s been two years since activists took over a town in Germany hoping to prevent a coal mine from expanding.

Earlier in the week, police started an effort to clear the town of Lützerath.

They used physical force and smoke to evict activists who have reportedly been squatting in homes and buildings set for demolition.

Some holdouts are going underground to make it harder for authorities to remove them.
