Former police officer Carrick jailed for life over rapes
Serial rapist and former Metropolitan Police officer David Carrick has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 30 years and 239 days for attacking a dozen women over a 17-year period.
Carrick, who joined the Met in 2001 before becoming an armed officer with the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command in 2009, pleaded guilty to 49 charges, including 24 counts of rape.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman and three children died in a house fire in north-west London.
A 43-year-old woman, and one girl, aged 15, and two boys aged eight and four-years-old, died, in Tillett Close, Stonebridge, the Metropolitan Police said. Police had previously said the three children were all boys.
Their next-of-kin have been informed, the force added.
