G7 sign Ukraine security pact as nation moves closer to Nato
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was leaving the Nato summit with a "significant security victory" after a G7 leaders declaration of long-term security guarantees.
The announcement came after the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak assured Ukraine's leader that "real progress" had been made on the security guarantees, and said he belonged in Nato.

Ukraine detained two security officials linked to a foiled Russian plot to assassinate President Zelensky. Allegedly, they received drones and ammunition from Russia's FSB. The SBU disclosed thwarted plans to target Zelensky and other high-ranking officials. This follows previous attempts, including a 2023 arrest of a woman and a Polish man's alleged involvement. Ukrainian intelligence agents have successfully thwarted a Russian plan to assassinate Volodymyr Zelensky. The SBU State Security Service of Ukraine revealed that they apprehended Russian agents embedded within the Ukrainian state guard service. These agents were allegedly plotting to kidnap and assassinate the president along with other high-ranking government officials.
