The home secretary outlined the government's plans for 'safer streets' during a speech at the Labour conference in Liverpool.

Yvette Cooper vowed to bring in Ronan's Law, named after teen Ronan Kanda, which would see a ban on the sales of ninja swords in the UK.

16-year-old Ronan was stabbed from behind with a 20inch blade in a case of mistaken identity in 2022.
