Two Former MLB Stars Die in Deadly Dominican Republic Nightclub Roof Collapse, Eagles Announce Final Shows of More Than Year-Lon

Nightclub roof collapse in Dominican Republic kills more than 100 people, including two former MLB stars.

The death toll following the roof collapse at the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo continues to rise, with at least 124 confirmed dead at this time.

According to local officials, 155 transfers have also been taken to local hospitals.

The incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning while a concert was being held at the club.

Among the deceased are former MLB stars Octavio Dotel and Tony Enrique Blanco Cabrera, the governor of the Montecristi province Nelsy Cruz, and singer Rubby Pérez, who had been performing at the time of the collapse.

Rescue efforts remain underway while investigations as to what caused the roof collapse begin.

Eagles announce final shows of residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas this fall.

Legendary rock group the Eagles have officially set a closing date for their 44-show residency at the Las Vegas Sphere.

The band announced 8 new dates throughout October and November with a final performance set for November 8, 2025.

The news comes more than 6 months after their first performance at the venue last September.

Presale for the new dates is set to begin Tuesday, April 15 at 10am PT with general on-sale to kick off April 18.
