France has denied allegations of interfering in Romaniaās presidential elections after Telegram founder Pavel Durov claimed a āWestern European governmentā asked him to block Romanian conservatives ahead of the vote. Durov hinted at France with a baguette emoji and accused French intel chief Nicolas Lerner of personally approaching him. France called the accusations āunfoundedā and blamed Moscow for interference in the earlier annulled round. The tight runoff between centrist Nicusor and Euroskeptic Simion is now mired in deeper controversy.
