Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg made a surprise appearance at Budapest Pride, turning the annual LGBTQ parade into a loud political statement against Viktor Orbán’s right-wing government.
Speaking at the march, Thunberg accused the Hungarian leadership of trying to “ban love” and labeled the event a protest against what she called “fascist” attacks on human rights. Hamas has condemned what it calls a “targeted assassination” of five Al Jazeera journalists in Gaza, after an Israeli strike hit a tent for reporters outside Gaza City’s al-Shifa Hospital.
