The "superbrain" Heart of Joy takes driving dynamics to a new level in the New Class.

Together with the BMW Dynamic Performance Control software stack, the Heart of Joy is centrally responsible for the drive, braking, recuperation, and partial steering functions.

It processes information ten times faster than previous systems, thus responding to the driver more directly than ever before.

The number of control interventions required is reduced, and the driving path is more precise and stable.

This allows the vehicle to develop consistent, reproducible cornering behavior and be controlled intuitively.

The drive and braking functions also work harmoniously together during deceleration.

Regenerative braking is effective across the entire speed range, right down to a standstill.

In everyday driving, the vehicle can be stopped in 98 percent of cases without the friction brake intervening – completely silently and without any jerking when stopping.
