Rupee falls 6 paise to end at 83.28 against US dollar

The Indian rupee closed 6 paise lower at 83.28 against the US dollar on Friday due to sustained foreign fund outflows. The rupee remained range-bound as risk appetite stayed strong with the US Federal Reserve maintaining interest rates. The Indian Central Bank continued to defend the currency from weakening beyond 83.29. The dollar index was trading lower, while Brent crude declined. The domestic equity market saw gains, but foreign institutional investors sold equities.
