South Korea to ban all stock short-selling through June 2024

IndiaTimes Sunday, 5 November 2023
On Sunday, South Korea's financial regulators announced the reinstatement of a ban on all short-selling in the domestic stock market, set to take effect from Monday. The move aims to foster a "fair and equitable market environment" for both retail investors and institutional and foreign investors. This reintroduction of restrictions revives measures that were lifted in May 2021, specifically targeting major stocks featured in the KOSPI200 and KOSDAQ150 indices.
