US lawmakers want Joe Biden to hike tariffs on Chinese-made vehicles

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 8 November 2023
A bipartisan group of US lawmakers is urging the Biden administration to increase tariffs on Chinese-made vehicles and investigate ways to prevent Chinese companies from exporting to the US through Mexico. They argue that the current 25% tariff on Chinese vehicles should be raised to counter the expected surge in imports and to address the harm posed to the American automotive industry. The lawmakers also highlight the need to prepare for the influx of Chinese vehicles exported through other trading partners.
