Wholesale price inflation in India rose to 0.3% in November, ending seven months of contraction. The increase was driven by higher prices of food articles, minerals, machinery, computer and electronics products, motor vehicles, and other manufacturing. Food articles saw an 8.2% rise, with vegetable prices increasing by 10.4%. Onion prices surged by 101.2% compared to last year. Retail inflation, measured by the consumer price index, stood at 5.6% in November. Rating agency ICRA predicts that WPI inflation could reach 1.5-1.7% in December.
