Sam Bankman-Fried will not face a second trial

US prosecutors do not plan a second trial for Sam Bankman-Fried, who was convicted of stealing from customers of his bankrupt FTX cryptocurrency exchange. The prosecutors stated that the strong public interest in a prompt resolution of the case outweighed the benefits of a second trial. Bankman-Fried's scheduled sentencing in March 2024 will likely include orders of forfeiture and restitution for his victims. Jurors convicted Bankman-Fried on all seven fraud and conspiracy counts he faced.
