India's coal-fired power output dips at fastest pace in May; renewable energy surges record high; check reason behind

India's coal-fired electricity generation witnessed a significant 9.5% decline in May, the steepest in five years, driven by reduced power demand and a surge in renewable energy output. Overall electricity generation dropped by 5.3%, while renewable energy surged by 17.2% to a record high, impacting fossil fuel reliance and global fuel prices. Natural gas-based generation also experienced a sharp fall.
