Ameesha Patel revealed being replaced in Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Lagaan' due to perceived mismatch with her educated background for the village girl role. She was on set in New Zealand when informed of the change. Despite this, Patel praised Gracy Singh’s performance and celebrated the success of her film 'Gadar' released on the same day as 'Lagaan'.
