‘Retro’ crosses Rs 46 crores despite mixed reviews

Suriya's 'Retro', directed by Karthik Subbaraj, has grossed over Rs 46.50 crore in India within five days, despite mixed reviews. The film earned approximately Rs 3.35 crore on its fifth day, a drop from its opening of Rs 19.25 crore. Tamil occupancy stood at 22.54% on Monday. Starring Pooja Hegde and others, 'Retro' combines action, nostalgia, and socio-political themes. While Suriya's performance and visuals are praised, the screenplay and pacing face criticism.
