Severe weather warnings for parts of UK as hurricane remnants set to bring 60mph winds
Sunday, 18 August 2024 The remnants of Hurricane Ernesto are set to batter parts of the UK, bringing heavy rain and up to 60mph winds, the Met Office has warned.
The UK has experienced its sunniest spring on record, with four days of the season still to go. Some 630 hours of sunshine were clocked up across the country between March 1 and May 27, according to provisional figures from the Met Office.
