Met marksman who shot Jean Charles de Menezes after 7/7 attacks breaks silence
Saturday, 9 November 2024 A police officer who shot an innocent man he suspected was a terrorist in the wake of the 7/7 London bombings has spoken about the killing for the first time.
The family and friends of Jean Charles de Menezes have gathered outside Stockwell Tube Station in London to mark 20 years since his death. The 27-year-old Brazilian electrician was fatally shot at the station by Metropolitan Police officers as he went to work. He had been mistakenly identified as one of the men directly linked to a failed terrorism attack in the capital the previous day. Report by Jonesia.
