Competition opens to create an 'emotionally powerful' memorial to the late Queen
Wednesday, 11 December 2024 Leading artists, architects and engineers are being asked to put forward their ideas for the national memorial to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Renowned architect Lord Foster will design a national memorial to Queen Elizabeth II, transforming St James’s Park with gardens and a bridge inspired by her wedding tiara. The project includes Commonwealth and UK gardens, two ceremonial gates, and a lightweight bridge symbolising unity with Prince Philip. Lord Foster says it’s a “blessing” to help tell Her Majesty’s story in a space for all. Report by Covellm.
