Britons urged to take part in 80th anniversary of VE Day
Monday, 10 February 2025 Britons are being urged to take part in celebrations for the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day this May, as it "might be our last chance to thank" surviving veterans.

Prague marks VE Day with reenactment of 1945 uprising against Nazis
Hundreds gathered in Prague’s Nusle district on Thursday to commemorate VE Day with a large-scale reenactment of the 1945 Prague Uprising, featuring period uniforms, authentic weapons, and WWII military vehicles.

The prime minister was accompanied by his wife Victoria as they left Westminster Abbey following the World War II commemorations. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and other party leaders arrived at Westminster Abbey for the VE Day Thanksgiving Service on Thursday.
