'100-car pile-up' causes chaos on snowy US highway
Thursday, 13 February 2025 A pile-up reportedly involving more than 100 cars in "whiteout conditions" has closed part of a major highway in the US state of Oregon.
A powerful magnitude 8.8 earthquake struck Russiaβs Kamchatka Peninsula β the strongest in the region since 1952. Intense shaking caused damage across the area, including a collapsed wall at a kindergarten (luckily, no injuries reported). Aftershocks up to magnitude 7.5 are expected over the coming weeks. Tsunami warnings were issued for Kamchatka, the Kuril Islands, Japan, Alaska, California, and Oregon, with the first waves already hitting Severo-Kurilsk. Watch raw footage capturing the terrifying moment the earthquake shook buildings and triggered alarms. Stay safe and stay informed.
