Monday, 14 April 2025 A Holocaust survivor has said it is “up to us to guard against” a repetition of the Second World War atrocity 80 years after the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp was liberated.

More than 8,000 Bosniak boys and men were executed by Bosnian Serb forces in July 1995, towards the end of the Bosnian War, in what is the only recognised genocide in Europe since the Holocaust.
