'Our lives will never be the same': Family pay tribute to 'hero' firefighter killed in blaze
Tuesday, 20 May 2025 () The family of a firefighter killed in a blaze at a former RAF base have described her as a "hero" who was a "force to be reckoned with".
Oxfordshire's chief fire officer gives an emotional statement at the scene of a fire which claimed the lives of two firefighters and a member of the public at a former RAF base in Bicester. Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Serviceβs Chief Fire Officer Rob MacDougall says, βit is with a very heavy heart that we today report the loss of two of our firefighters. A member of the public has also sadly died in the incident.β
