No 10 decline to say if Palestine will be recognised with Hamas in power
Monday, 4 August 2025 () The prime minister's spokesman has refused eight times to confirm whether recognition of Palestine could go ahead if Hamas remain in power and the hostages are not released.
The UAE has carried out its 61st humanitarian airdrop over Gaza as part of the “Birds of Goodness” mission. Reports claim some containers may have fallen into the sea, triggering further chaos amid desperate conditions. In addition to airlifts, 20 aid trucks were sent into Gaza, where hunger deaths continue to rise. UN agencies report seizures and looting of aid, while Hamas declares it will only allow access to hostages if Israel halts airstrikes and opens corridors. Despite international efforts, the humanitarian crisis shows no sign of easing.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has unleashed a fiery statement accusing Hamas of “starving Israeli hostages like the Nazis starved the Jews.” The explosive comment comes after the release of harrowing Hamas propaganda videos showing two visibly emaciated Israeli captives inside a Gaza tunnel. Netanyahu didn’t hold back, calling the captors “Hamas monsters with thick, fleshy arms” who enjoy full meals while the hostages waste away. The shocking Nazi comparison has sparked outrage and debate across global diplomatic circles. Is this a turning point in Israel’s messaging war? Or a glimpse into the unimaginable conditions hostages are facing underground in Gaza?

Hamas has issued a chilling ultimatum: no Red Cross access to Israeli hostages unless Israel fully halts its airstrikes and permanently opens all humanitarian corridors into Gaza. With hostages visibly starving and dying in captivity, this standoff has ignited global outrage. Netanyahu compares Hamas tactics to Nazi-era starvation, while families of the captives demand immediate intervention. Is Hamas weaponizing aid — or is this the only leverage they have left? This report breaks down the latest escalation in the hostage-aid war.

Gaza Aid Attacks have turned humanitarian lifelines into death traps. Despite Israel’s July 27 pledge of daily military pauses, relentless strikes on aid routes have left over 1,373 Palestinians dead since May 27 — many killed while simply searching for food. In Zikim, Khan Younis, Middle Gaza, Rafah, and Deir el-Balah, grieving families recount horror: children killed, homes destroyed, and flour stained with blood. As food convoys are bombed and chaos engulfs distribution, Gaza’s humanitarian crisis deepens. The Gaza Aid Attacks are now symbolic of the deadly collapse of international protection in war zones.

As global momentum builds for Palestinian statehood, pressure is mounting on Donald Trump. Over a dozen U.S. House Democrats, led by Rep. Ro Khanna, have penned a letter urging the Trump administration to formally recognize a Palestinian state. Citing the ongoing war in Gaza and recent moves by France and the U.K., lawmakers warn that the U.S. risks diplomatic isolation if it doesn’t act. The letter references the 22-state Arab League plan and stresses the need for mutual security guarantees for both Israel and Palestine. Some Democrats, including Rep. Al Green and Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, is also pushing for further congressional action.
