AIIMS doctors call off strike after meeting with health minister
Sunday, 4 August 2019 Resident doctors of AIIMS called off their strike and resumed duties on Sunday after Health Minister Harsh Vardhan assured them that their concerns over the NMC Bill will be duly addressed.
Journalists staged silent protest outside Press Club of India in Delhi on July 07 and demanded judicial inquiry into death of a journalist who jumped off AIIMS building on July 06. In accordance with Union Health Minister's order, a high-level committee has been set up that'll submit report within 48 hours.
Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel who have recovered from coronavirus, donated plasma for treatment of COVID-19 positive patients. Speaking on it, Commandant 31st Battalion of CRPF, Deependra Rajput said, "139 CRPF jawans had tested positive for COVID-19 here. Out of 139, 138 have fully recovered and have returned to duty. Till now, three jawans have donated plasma and more are willing to do so. This is another way to serve the country." DIG of BSF, Lalit Kumar said, "We are preparing list of those who have recovered from COVID-19 and the list is with AIIMS hospital so whenever they'll feel need of plasma of BSF personnel, we will donate it to them."
All India Institute of Medical Sciences Director Randeep Guleria on June 27 reacted on surging COVID-19 cases in the country. He said that the rise in COVID cases in country are not that high if compared to countries affected from the invisible enemy and India has low mortality rate. He said, "Rise in cases in India is still not as high as compared to other countries. In US, there've been almost 40,000 cases per day in last 2 days, our numbers aren't that high. Cases per million population continue to be low and we still have low mortality rate."
The Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, (AIIMS), Dr Randeep Guleria reacted over Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's statement that 5.5 lakh cases are expected in the national capita by July 31. "Number of cases in Delhi may not be as high as predicted but still whatever be the number, we have to increase our capacity so that we can manage increasing load that healthcare system is going to get," he said.
Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan on, July 6 paid tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, on his birth anniversary at Shahidi Park. During his speech, the decision of abrogation of Article 370 and 35 (A) made Mookerjee happy as he fought for the same.
Union Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Delhi BJP Chief Adesh Kumar Gupta and other BJP leaders paid tribute to Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, on his birth anniversary at Shahidi Park. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid homage to Dr Mookerjee on his birth anniversary. Mookerjee was born on July 6, 1901, in Kolkata. He was the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited DRDO-built Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel COVID Hospital in Delhi Cantonment on July 05. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan also visited the COVID Hospital. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and DRDO Chairman G Satheesh Reddy were also present. The DRDO-built Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel COVID-19 Hospital in Delhi Cantonment is the temporary hospital structure. The hospital will have 1,000 beds including 250 ICU beds. "DRDO, Ministry of Home Affairs, Tata Sons Industries and with support of many organisations set up this 1000 bedded temporary hospital for COVID-19 patients in just 12 days. Over 250 intensive care units are available here in accordance with WHO guidelines," Rajnath Singh said.
