The Defence Research and Development Organisation-built Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel COVID Hospital is all set for COVID patients. While speaking to ANI, DRDO Chairman, G Satheesh Reddy on July 05 stated that to fight against COVID-19 pandemic, DRDO has manufactured 70 Made in India products so far. Adding on it, he further said we can manufacture around 25,000 ventilators each month if there is a need. We are ready to export them too. He said, "The hospital is equipped with all the facilities for patients free of cost as well as Army personnel will provide their services 24*7. A garbage dumping land was levelled and cleared to build the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel COVID19 Hospital." "The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has manufactured 70 Made in India products so far, to fight against COVID-19. Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited DRDO-built Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel COVID Hospital in Delhi Cantonment on July 05. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan also visited the COVID Hospital. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and DRDO Chairman G Satheesh Reddy were also present. The DRDO-built Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel COVID-19 Hospital in Delhi Cantonment is the temporary hospital structure. The hospital will have 1,000 beds including 250 ICU beds. "DRDO, Ministry of Home Affairs, Tata Sons Industries and with support of many organisations set up this 1000 bedded temporary hospital for COVID-19 patients in just 12 days. Over 250 intensive care units are available here in accordance with WHO guidelines," Rajnath Singh said.
Chandigarh Police headquarters has been closed for two days for sanitisation amid coronavirus pandemic. A person working in the education department office has contracted COVID-19. As per the information given by, SP (Headquarters) of Chandigarh Manoj Kumar, the police headquarters and education department's office are adjacent to each other in Sector-9 of Chandigarh. There are total 65 active cases of COVID-19 in Chandigarh.
The sale of Chinese goods has gone down in Chandigarh after customers have started demanding Indian products from the shopkeepers. One of the shopkeeper said, "People are not buying Chinese products now. We are also planning not to sell Chinese items once our existing stock is sold." It happened after Galwan Valley clash between India and China which claimed lives of 20 soldiers.
Youth Congress workers staged protest in a unique way against fuel price hike in Chandigarh. Party workers tied a car with rope and dragged it on the roads of the city. They shouted slogans demanding the central government to take steps against rising prices of petrol and diesel. Later, police came and detained the protestors. A Youth Congress worker said, "When in 2013-14, rate of diesel and petrol were between Rs. 45- 50, then for BJP Inflation was 'dayan' but now when rates are shooting up to Rs. 80, inflation is 'darling' for them."

In collaboration with IIT Ropar, PGIMER launched 'Medi-Sarthi' drone and AI-powered trolley, with an aim to minimize physical contact between healthcare workers and patients. Director of PGIMER, Dr Jagat Ram said, "Our team has successfully made it. It is a made-in-India product. Its aim is to minimize physical contact between healthcare workers and patients. Trolley can deliver medicines and record patients' temperature."
