Farmers have escalated their protests against the three agriculture bills that have been passed by the Modi government. Farmers body Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee continued its ‘rail-roko’ agitation in different parts of Punjab. 31 farmer groups have come under the aegis of the Bharatiya Kisan Union to protest against the bills. Several organisations in Haryana, including the BKU, have also extended support to the nationwide strike called by some farmers' bodies against the bills. In the Lucknow-Ayodhya highway, farmers were seen burning husk and chanting slogans against the Modi government and demanding the withdrawal of the contentious bills . Adequate security has been deployed by the UP government to ensure that farmers do no enter Lucknow city. Meanwhile, RJD Leader Tejashwi Yadav was seen driving a tractor during the protest against the farmer bills. Farmers are apprehensive that the entry of corporate in the agriculture sector will reduce their power to negotiate fair prices and also fear that the system of MSP will eventually be diluted. Four people died and nine were injured in a collision at NH 28 highway in Ayodhya. Two injured have been refereed to Lucknow for primary treatment while the remaining have been admitted in the district hospital. The incident took place at around 5 am on September 20. A police official said, "9 people were injured after a collision between a tempo and a truck. The injured were taken to the hospital where 4 of them were declared brought dead. Investigation is underway."
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi spoke to Hindustan Times' Aditi Prasad on the issue of the Ram Temple, the Covid pandemic and the way forward for India. Trivedi said that Ram Rajya was the political vision of the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi. He also said that the secular essence of the country is derived from the ideals of Lord Ram and added that all rights enjoyed by the citizens of India are inspired by the values of Lord Ram. The BJP Rajya Sabha MP also lauded PM Modi's handling of the Covid crisis and said that enough steps had been taken to bring the economy back on track in the wake of the pandemic. Trivedi said that Prime Minister Modi's popularity had increased during the last 6 months. He added that the policies of the Modi government would lead to India becoming an exporter of defence equipment soon. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke at the foundation-laying of the new Ram temple in Ayodhya. He hailed the democratic institutions of India for the resolution of the decades-long Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. Adityanath said that many generations had perished waiting for the moment of construction of a grand temple for the Hindu god Ram, believed to have been born in Ayodhya, at the spot where the Babri mosque once stood. A Muslim family-based in Ayodhya has been making 'Khadaus' (wooden footwear) for Hindu saints for several generations, which is also their primary source of income. Mohd. Azam said he is the fifth generation in his family who has carried forward the tradition. "I make Khadaus, which are used by Hindu saints, for a living. These are also worshipped by many people. I am the fifth generation in my family who is making this, and carrying forward the tradition which was started by my ancestors," he told. Khadau possesses a great significance in the Hindu religion, in particular. In the epic mythology Ramayana, Bharat, Lord Ram's younger brother, placed 'Khadaus' of Rama on the throne as a symbol of the latter's authority over the kingdom. It is thus an object of worship for many, even today.
Indian Americans hosted food drive in Washington DC to ease lives amid COVID-19 crisis. Group of Indian Americans has provided food supplies to more than 15,000 families over 25 food drive events. Drive was organised in association with India Development and Relief Fund under the umbrella of Indian American community. Group has been actively organising these drives since May 9.

Vietnamese American and Tibetan communities also joined hands to protest against China. They are protesting against the China's expansionist policy with its neighbouring countries. Protestors displayed anti-China placards written "China vacate Aksai Chin and Kashmir". One of the protestors held placard written "China stop Expansionist policy".
