After director Ali Abbas Zafar tweeted an apology note over the 'Tandav' outrage, BJP leader Ram Kadam called it a "big win", but said they will not stop until the cast and crew are behind the bars. "For last 6 hours, we were protesting outside Mumbai-situated Amazon office over the web-series 'Tandav' and we compelled them to apologise...This is our big win. And at last due to our pressure, 'Tandav' team had to apologise in front of whole country. But only apology won't work. We will protest until the whole team of 'Tandav' gets in jail...We'll go on hunger strike in front of Ghatkopar police station tomorrow morning and will compel them to file the FIR," said Ram Kadam. Legendary Indian classical musician and Padma Vibhushan awardee Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan passed away in his Mumbai residence on January 17. The celebrated musician was an Indian classical musician in the Hindustani classical music tradition, belonging to the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana. He was laid to rest in Mumbai with full state honours. He was a recipient of several accolades including the Padma Shri in 1991, followed by Padma Bhushan in 2006 and Padma Vibhushan in 2018. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the legendary musician's demise and extended condolences to his family and admirers. In a tweet, the Prime Minister showered praise on Ustad Mustafa Khan, saying that he was a stalwart of creativity whose works endeared him to people across generations. On the loss of a legend par excellence, the music fraternity and political leaders from across the spectrum extended their condolences through social media.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel accused BJP of maligning any sort of protests. Baghel said that BJP called them Pakistani, Khalistani and even alleged them of being middleman's broker, but they won't be successful in their attempts in suppressing farmers. CM Bhupesh Baghel said, "Whenever there's a protest, BJP tries to malign it. As for protesting farmers, sometimes they (BJP) called them Pakistani or Khalistani. They even alleged that farmers are middleman's broker. NIA's notice has also been sent to the houses of the protesting farmers. Regardless of their attempts to suppress, farmers won't be scared."
Placards of PM Modi and several other world leaders were seen at a pro-freedom rally organised in Sann area of Pakistan’s Sindh. The rally had been organised on the birth anniversary of GM Syed, one of the founding fathers of modern Sindh nationalism. Protesters said that Sindh had been illegally handed over to Pakistan in 1947 and raised slogans for Sindhudesh. There are several nationalist parties in Sindh, who are advocating for a free Sindh nation at various international platforms.
