2 factories fined Rs 2.3 crore for power theft in Agra

As part of an ongoing drive against power theft, unauthorised use of electricity and other irregularities, the vigilance department of Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DVVNL) on Wednesday raided two chemical factories in Agra district and detected large-scale power theft. A penalty of Rs 82.5 lakh was imposed on one factory in Baha area of the region while another in Kamtari village was fined Rs 1.5 crore.
