'Suicidal tendency' in over 1 lakh farmers in drought-prone Marathwada: Report

Of the 10 lakh farmer families surveyed in the eight districts of drought-prone Marathwada region, 1,05,754 lakh cultivators were found to be "under depression" and having "suicidal tendencies", stated a report submitted to the state government by Sunil Kendrekar, senior IAS officer who had on July 3 taken voluntary retirement from the post of Aurangabad revenue divisional commissioner.
