Four Assam Police personnel, two civilians arrested for demanding money
Sunday, 3 September 2023 Six individuals, including four Assam Police personnel and the husband of a high-ranking police officer, have been arrested for allegedly demanding money in Bajali district. This comes in response to a CID case registered against seven police personnel, including a deputy superintendent of police and two sub-inspectors, following a complaint of extortion in early August. While the arrested police personnel are in custody, the other two individuals will be presented in court.
