Political parties in Thane, Maharashtra, are going all out to pamper citizens ahead of the approaching polls. The Shiv Sena has hired 1,500 buses to ferry residents to their native lands in Konkan and Western Maharashtra, while the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and the NCP are also offering bus services to Konkan. Additionally, cash prizes are being offered for both sarvajanik and domestic Ganpati decorations. Political observers believe that these gestures during the festive season help parties reinforce their influence.
