The United Nations Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues has described the erosion of fundamental rights, particularly of religious and other minorities, in India as "massive, systematic, and dangerous." The Special Rapporteur made these comments during a hearing held by the US Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIRF).
