BJP rolls out big guns, fields 3 Union ministers in Madhya Pradesh polls

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 26 September 2023
The ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh is fielding its heavyweights, including three Union ministers and four Lok Sabha MPs, in the upcoming assembly elections. This move is seen as an attempt to counter anti-incumbency and a resurgent Congress. The Congress has criticized the BJP's strategy, calling it a desperate move indicating acceptance of defeat. The list includes potential chief ministerial candidates and prominent faces in the state. The BJP has announced 78 candidates so far, marking the first time it has done so before the declaration of poll dates.
