Discontent brews in JD(S), BJP over LS poll alliance in Karnataka

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 27 September 2023
The alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (Secular) in Karnataka for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections has raised concerns within the parties. The BJP is unhappy with the delay in appointing a leader of the opposition (LoP) in the legislative assembly and suspicion that former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy may be appointed. The alliance has also caused discontent among party members who feel they were not consulted. The Janata Dal (Secular) is facing similar issues with some members openly opposing the alliance.
