Gujarat to chart out 'milky' way for crisis-hit Sri Lanka

The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) are set to acquire a majority stake in a joint venture company in Sri Lanka to revive the beleaguered dairy sector. The joint declaration of intent has been signed between the Indian and Sri Lankan governments, with NDDB and GCMMF expected to have a 51% stake in the new venture. This partnership aims to increase local milk production and reduce the country's dependence on imported milk powder.
