Record foodgrain & horticultural output

The agriculture ministry in India has reported record-breaking foodgrain and horticultural produce outputs for the year 2022-23. Foodgrain production increased by 14 million tonnes (4%) compared to the previous year, reaching an estimated 330 million tonnes. Horticultural produce also saw a 1% increase, with an estimated production of 352 million tonnes. The record-breaking figures were attributed to the hard work of farmers, the efficiency of scientists, and farmer-friendly government policies.
