IndiaTimes Monday, 23 October 2023
Tamil Nadu is positioning itself as a hub for the aerospace and defense sectors through the Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor (TANDIC). The state has identified five nodes for the corridor, with a focus on new defense production facilities and clusters for testing and certification, export facilitation, and technology transfer. The state government has released the Tamil Nadu Aerospace and Defence Industrial Policy and is developing specific hubs in Coimbatore, Hosur, and Trichy. The hub and spoke model will also create opportunities for the state's MSME sector. TIDCO is also partnering with Tata Technologies for an advanced defense manufacturing facility.
