IndiaTimes Friday, 27 October 2023
A dismissed RPF constable, Chetan Singh, was prevented from causing more casualties in a shootout on the Jaipur-Mumbai Superfast Express by passengers who opposed him. The chargesheet filed against Singh includes statements from witnesses, including a Muslim businessman who was targeted by the constable. Singh had shot and killed his senior and three passengers based on their appearance and dressing. Passengers in the train created a ruckus and pulled the alarm chain, forcing Singh to step away.
