School a daily trial by water for these kids
Children in Lohra village in Jharkhand, India, have been crossing a river and walking through a forest to attend school, regardless of the season. The river poses a risk, as it can rise and sweep away students who lose their balance on its rocky bed. The nearest high school is in a neighboring district, and there is no bridge for the villagers to reach it. Despite the challenges, the students continue to attend school, using sticks to gauge the river's depth and carrying extra clothes in case of wet uniforms. Efforts have been made to draw attention to the need for a bridge, but no action has been taken yet.
