High drama as Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) opts out of state polls
Monday, 30 October 2023 The Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) has decided not to contest the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana. This is the first time the party has chosen not to participate since the formation of Telangana in 2014. The decision has led to drama and protests within the party. The TTDP cited the inability to focus on the Telangana elections due to developments in Andhra Pradesh, including the imprisonment of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. Additionally, the party has been losing support and cadre in recent years.
