Bride's family disapproves of relationship, kills newlyweds in Tamil Nadu

A newlywed couple in Tuticorin, India, was hacked to death by the bride's family as they disapproved of the relationship. The victims, V Marichelvam and M Karthika, had been in love for two years and got married without the approval of Karthika's family. On Thursday evening, a gang including Karthika's father arrived at Marichelvam's house and attacked the couple with sickles, killing them instantly. The police have filed a murder case and formed special teams to apprehend the culprits.
